Ellie Linton, a teen from an Australian coastal town, leads her friends on an excursion to a camp deep in the woods, dubbed "Hell." Upon their return, the youths find that their town has been overrun by an enemy army, and their friends and family have been imprisoned. When the hostile invaders become alerted to their presence, Ellie and her friends band together to escape -- and strike back against -- this mysterious enemy.

Movie Parental Guide

nudity While at the lake, Fiona strips down to her bikini, as Homer is watching Kevin pushes him in the water. There is a brief discussion with Ellie and Corrie about sex at the beginning of the film. Ellie and Lee share a small kiss then it turns passionately for a second, because Ellie says she needs to check on Chris (whose on watch.) Kevin and Corrie are seen kissing at the camp for a few seconds.
violence A teenager douses a rag in petrol and proceeds to light it and throw at a petrol tank, setting four people on fire. The aftermath is shown, with one girl soldier with a burnt and bloodied face. Teenagers get shot at numerous times. Many other explosions. Robyn guns down at least 5 soldiers down in slow motion, with mild blood spray. Other incidents of mild violence, such as car chases with gunshot. Ellie witnesses a man being executed with a shot to the head, and in her horror retreats too quickly, being spotted by a searchlight. Ellie and Corrie witness an RAAF jet fighter being shot down by enemy aircraft. Homer shoots out the helicopter's searchlight, which retreats after dropping flares. The group barely escape with their lives, after a jet destroys the home. It is implied that Lee was shot in the leg, we see him being treated by Dr Clements. Corrie is shot as the group escapes.
profanity About 2 F-Words, 5 uses of Hell, 4 uses of Shit (one is bullshit), 3 uses of Bloody, 2 uses of Jesus and God and 1 use of Piss. Name calling (Dickhead, Idiot, Wanker, Weirdo and Nutcase.)
alcohol Chris smokes pot in two scenes, and appears to be very stoned at one point. Teenagers talk about person being stoned.
frightening The showground prison scene (see violence and gore) is very intense. Climax is quite intense. I don't think the movie is too much for any teenager aged 12 and over. I'd say: Suggested MPAA Rating: PG-13 For Moderate Depiction OF Bloody War Violence and Language.
