Based on a true story, this film tells the tale of the 1950 US soccer team who, against all odds, beat England 1 - 0 in the city of Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Although no US team has yet won a World Cup title, this story is about the family traditions and passions which shaped the lives of the players who made up this team of underdogs.

nudity A man makes a casual joke about "parking". It's said pretty quickly so some might miss it. A girl walks past and is wolf whistled As the players depart, they kiss their loved ones but not overly passionately.
violence One player is "hard man." He roughs up his opposition and tends to hurt them (not seriously, battered and bruised, that sort of thing) he also makes jokes about sending players home on stretchers etc. There are a few references to war and shell shock but nothing is ever seen. Their is a football scuffle. Players are pushed, thrown to the ground etc. no one is seriously hurt
profanity Hell and damn are used a few times, at least once for comedy . Carpola is used once as is turd. One character speaks in French and it is assumed he Is describing the team in unflattering terms There is quite a lot of racism in the film . Some milder remarks like dago kraut and eye-tie are thrown about. One character is critterzied for not being Christian (no swearing) One player is black. The term voodoo is used a few times as an insult.
alcohol One character is show smoking cigars throughout. Three players are shown to be a little tipsy but not overly drunk. There are a few remarks of getting drunk enough for a player to summon the courage to fly. One player is drugged without his knowledge, it makes him giddy and act a little silly. Their is a formal dinner and champagne is drunk. Not to excess. A few scenes are shown in bars or clubs. Drinks are shown but are never the focus of the scene
