Honest and straightforward small-town Shirlee Kenyon chucks her boyfriend and heads for Chicago. Accidentally having to host a radio problem phone-in show, it is clear she is a natural and is hired on the spot. But the station insists she call herself Doctor, and as her popularity grows a local reporter starts digging for the truth. Problem is, the more he is around her the more he fancies her.

Movie Parental Guide

nudity A woman invites a man into her bedroom. She walks behind the doorway and he follows. As they both are hidden behind the wall, we then see her clothes fly across the room, landing on the floor. As she drops her bra on the floor, we hear the man go, "Holy moly!" The scene cuts to them lying in bed (very unclear shot, silouhettes barely seen) and the woman says, "Holy moly." A couple talk about losing their virginity, not in detail. A man dancing with a woman slides his hand down on her butt. She slides it back up, irritated. Several sexual references, including "tits" and "balls" and references to extramarital affairs. Suggestive content is on the borderline between PG and PG-13, and may have received a PG-13 if submitted today.
violence A man punches another man in the face. A little blood is shown on the punched man's face. A man and a woman have a heated argument, with the man knocking his plate across the table.
profanity Pushing it for a PG. 1 use of "goddamn," several of "bastard," "ass," and "shit." A handful of other, milder profanities, such as "hell" and "damn." "Tits" is used as well as "balls" and "screw you." Comparatively, language should have probably earned a PG-13
alcohol Social drinking and smoking. One man is shown drinking a beer and saying he's going out for another drink. Later in the film, the same man is shown in a bar. References to alcoholism and sobriety.
frightening Nothing too intense. One man is punched. A couple heated arguments. A woman is shown trying to snatch her money from the wind on top of a high bridge. A man thinks she is trying to commit suicide and rushes to help her, only to make her fall and dangle over the top of the bridge. She is pulled up, unharmed. Not very intense, but may be unsettling to those with a fear of heights.
