The directorial debut of Dustin Hoffman, Quartet is a high-drama comedy about temperamental divas and old grudges, passion and pride, romance and Rigoletto. At a home for retired musicians, the annual concert to celebrate Verdi's birthday is disrupted by the arrival of Jean, an eternal diva and former wife of one of the residents. Expect poignancy and plenty of laughs.

nudity Wilf asks a waitress is she is up for some "rumpy pumpy" partially in French. She doesn't understand and laughs. Wilf says to Sissy that she has the nicest t*ts he's ever seen. Sissy have a crush on the gardner and one morning looks out the window in her night gown and says "Don't move, I'm coming down big boy" Whilst Jean and Reg were married, it is hinted that jean had an affair with another man when she sees him in the medical ward and they talk about the fun they had. But later on in the film, she talks about it Sissy and Reg overhears them in their dressing room
violence Sissy goes into Jean's room with a bouquet of flowers and pesters her to join them in the Quartet. Jean then takes the flowers and then angrily bashes her on the head with them. Sissy then flees from the room and runs into a waiter with a food trolley and gets knocked out as a man from the lower floor watches. You later see her in a hospital bed supposedly with a concussion.
profanity F**k is used four times but one is hardly heard and you are warned each time they say the word. Tw*t is used once. S**t is used a couple of times. T*ts is used once. P*ss is used once.
alcohol Wilf offers Reg a hipflask just before the show. You see some characters drinking wine at a restaurant. Dr. Cogan sees two men smoking on a balcony and tells them to stop but later on in the film whilst Wilf is snooping around the grounds he sees her smoking discreetly.
frightening The scene where Jean attacks Sissy is rather sad.
