frightening A girl of about ten years passes a night in the forest. She is terrified by the noises of the night and several pairs of eyes staring at her out of the dark. Obviously, she is imagining ghosts and monsters. The scene intensely confers the terror of supernatural, magical forces. The scene is brief, but could be very frightening to young children. While exploring a karst cavern, the same girl loses her track and panics because she rightfully fears that she might never again find her way out of the cavern. In another scene, the girl confronts a pride of hunting wolves. The wolves growl at her and bare their fangs. Keeping up her courage and her cold blood, she scares the wolves away by jumping and by shouting at the top of her voice. All the same, the images of the wolves' fangs could seem terrifying to young children. Near the end of the film, a fox jumps out of a closed window, breaking the glass. The girl finds the fox lying in the court, covered with blood and having lost conscience. She carries the wounded fox back to its kennel in the wood. While she is carrying the fox, it is not clear whether it is just badly wounded, whether it is dying or already dead. Even though it is made clear later that the animal's injury wasn't as grave as it seemed, some of the images could seem shocking to young children. Near the beginning of the film, a fox is shown eating a poisoned bait and dying from the poison. While another fox comes near taking the scent of the cadaver, a huntsman is pointing his gun at the fox. You hear the sound of the shot, but you do not see whether the fox is hit by the bullet. The is a long, dramatic scene of a lynx chasing a fox, the fox finally escaping into his kennel, several short scenes of foxes catching and eating mice without showing any detail and one scene of a large bird of prey trying to catch a young fox while the girl is sucessfully protecting the baby animal with her body.
