alcohol 2/10 A young man smokes, he offers it to another person, but they decline the offer. A bong is seen.
frightening 6/10 Despite being an action film, Hostage contains many elements and themes common in horror films which may be found unsettling by people not used to horrors. Mars often appears out of nowhere, this is often used as mild jump-scares. One intense chase seen where Mars chases two people through air vents. He is covered in blood and crawls like a spider in a monster-like way which may be found scary. He grabs the leg of a girl as she leaves the air vent and pulls her back in. Many creepy scenes involving Mars including him somehow always knowing where people are hiding, appearing out of nowhere, becoming attached to one of his victims in a stalker like way and attempting to kidnap her (probably keep her almost as a pet), setting everything on fire, writing on walls with his own blood and even killing his own allies for little reason. Some emotional and upsetting scenes. Total - 24/50 Suggested MPAA Rating: R for strong graphic violence and language & some drug use.
