Two years have passed since the final battle with Sephiroth. Though Midgar, city of mako, city of prosperity, has been reduced to ruins, its people slowly but steadily walk the road to reconstruction. However, a mysterious illness called Geostigma torments them. With no cure in sight, it brings death to the afflicted, one after another, robbing the people of their fledgling hope.

Movie Parental Guide

nudity 0/10 Absolutely nothing.....
violence Original Version: 5/10 - Extended "Complete" Version: 8/10 Over an entire half of this film consists of chaotic, fast-paced fight scenes involving swords, firearms, fists, and explosions However, the battles are heavily stylized and completely unrealistic, which makes it more appropriate for most audiences. Do note that the graphic nature of the violence differs between the Original release and the Extended Blu-ray Edition. Original Version: The violence is quite intense and very chaotic, but it completely lacks blood or gore. Characters often battle each other with swords, firearms, fists etc. but it is heavily stylized and unrealistic. Early on in the film, Cloud Strife has his goggles shot off with a gun. A small amount of blood is visible for a few moments. Towards the end of the film, there is an intense, destructive sword fight between Cloud and Sephiroth. It completely lacks any blood of gore, except for a brief part where Sephiroth stabs Cloud through the shoulder. Cloud eventually forces the sword out of him, and some blood is briefly visible on the blade. Cloud is shot through the chest with a gun, though there is no blood. He survives. Extended "Complete" Version: The violence is mostly the same in this version, save for a few new scenes. There is a flashback depicting the character Zack's death. He is briefly shown lying in a puddle of blood and water as he says his last dying words to Cloud. The scene where Sephiroth stabs Cloud has been made anew. Instead, Sephiroth stabs him through the torso and throws him in the air, where he proceeds to violently cut and stab Cloud several times before throwing him to the ground. Cloud survives, but he is briefly seen in puddle of blood with lots of bloody wounds afterwards. When Cloud is shot through the chest, some blood is now visible.

alcohol 0/10 None.
frightening 6/10 There are a lot of intense, chaotic battle scenes with a variety of weapons. However, due to the stylization of these battles and lack of realism, most audiences should be able to handle it. However, due to the extremely fast-paced stylization, the battle sequences may be nauseating for visually sensitive audiences. Total Explicit Content: Original Version: 13/50 - Extended "Complete" Version: 16/50 While critical reception of this film has been mixed, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children is a good film, but it's designed more as fan-service for those who've played Final Fantasy VII. Most anime and video game fans should still enjoy it. The original version is appropriate for ages 10 and up, while the extended re-release is appropriate for ages 15 and up because of the more intense violence. suggested tv rating TV-PG-L-V or TV-14-L-V
