In a boorish future, the government sponsors a popular, but bloody, cross-country race in which points are scored by mowing down pedestrians. Five teams, each comprised of a male and female, compete using cars equipped with deadly weapons. Frankenstein, the mysterious returning champion, has become America's hero, but this time he has a passenger from the underground resistance.

Movie Parental Guide

nudity Sex & Nudity: 6/10 rear female nudity, as well as rear male nudity. Calamity Jane's (Mary Woronov) and Matilda the Hun's (Roberta Collins) breasts and pubic hair are seen while arguing during the first pit stop massage scene. Myra's (Louisa Moritz) breasts are also briefly seen after she talks with Frankenstein (David Carradine). Annie Smith's (Simone Griffeth) breasts are briefly seen during the the first pit stop when she makes out with Frankenstein (David Carradine), and lengthily seen during the second pit stop, during her love scene with Frankenstein. Some making out.
violence Violence & Gore: 10/10 Annie almost rams a boy rolling a tire. but fails to do so. People are killed in explosions, but they are not very graphic. Calamity Jane impales a man with the horns of her "bull" car, this scene is gory but it is 1 second. Cars ram each other throughout the movie, in an attempt to kill one another, this scene is not gory. A man gets impaled in the groin by the front dagger of Machine Gun Joe Viterbo, this scene is gory. The fight scene between Machine Gun Joe Viterbo (Sylvester Stallone) and Frankenstein (David Carradine) has Joe spitting out a mouthful of blood after repeated hits to the face. People are hit by cars throughout the movie. Sometimes it isn't very graphic, but often other times it's highly gory, showing bloody impalings, splattered bodies and crushed heads. At "Mercy Hospital", a group of old people are on road on their beds or wheelchairs, probably left on the road to get rammed. However, the driver who is Frankenstein who have a heart for the elderly, runs over all the female nurses on the sidewalk. Offscreen, but we are able to see the nurses fly around and scream while a doctor and two nurses on the second floor glare the scene.
profanity Profanity: 9/10 Various harsh language is used, particularly Sylvester Stallone's character.
alcohol Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: 2/10 Lots of cigarette and cigar smoking is shown. Some light drinking is shown.
frightening Frightening/Intense Scenes: 8/10 Despite the film's crude and highly gruesome nature, much of it is actually rather lighthearted. Undoubtedly, some will still find the race scenes a bit intense, as well as the fact that old people and children are considered targets. Machine Gun Joe (Sylvester Stallone) backhands his Navigator/Co-Driver Myra (Louisa Moritz) after she talks to Frankenstein (David Carradine). Music can be intense at times. Overall: 35/50
