Lots of awkward looking alien creatures, many which are scary looking, and meant to be scary.
A star goes supernova and the crew must react and try to outrun its damaging effects on their ship. During this, Jim saves Silver when the latter is knocked off the ship and huge pieces of matter nearly hit them and the ship. The star then turns into a black hole and their ship is being sucked toward it. Jim is told to secure the crewmembers' lifelines, but Scroop cuts one of them, sending a crewmember to his presumed death (we see him "fall" away from the ship until he disappears).
