Young Treasury Agent Elliot Ness arrives in Chicago and is determined to take down Al Capone but it's not going to be easy, because Capone has the police in his pocket. Ness meets Jimmy Malone a veteran patrolman and probably the most honorable one in the force. He asks Malone to help him get Capone but Malone warns him that if he goes after Capone, he is going to war.

Movie Parental Guide

nudity A few quick kisses on the lips. A kiss in background. A rather large nude painting behind De Niro at his place in one of the scenes, near the ceiling.
violence One of the main characters is shot repeatedly(blood splatters once). You later see him crawling along the floor, and there is a lot of blood on the floor. He later dies. A man gets shot and blood splatters over the window. Several men are shot by submachine guns.(some blood) A gangster beats a man with a baseball bat to death, and a pool of blood is shown around his head, with his head bloody A gangster shoots two in the head inside an elevator( blood splatters), then their bodies are shown with the word (touchable) written in blood inside the elevator A man gets pushed off of a building and falls into a car,his body is later shown and his head is bloody(graphic) A briefcase bomb goes off in a bar. Everybody dies, including a very young girl. Can be upsetting to mentally frail viewers. A shootout happens in a train station stairwell most of the people have bloody deaths (like blood splattering).
profanity - 11 uses of fuck - 4 uses of shit (as well as 3 uses of bullshit) - 3 uses of Goddamn - 2 uses of damn - 8 uses of Hell - 2 uses of bastard - 5 uses of son of a bitch
alcohol No drugs. The film is based on Capone's illegal alcohol business (though little drinking is shown). Several people smoke.
frightening The baseball bat scene's intense. A young girl dies in a bomb attack, which may be upsetting for some. There is a scene where a few men fight on a staircase with guns, one of them chases a run away stroller with a baby in it while in a gun fight, some bullets hit the stroller but in the end the baby is fine and unharmed. But some of the victims turn out with very bloody deaths. The film's generally more exciting than frightening, especially the fight in the train station which is very thrilling. Could be rated r for strong violence, and language
