nudity A fair amount of clevage in 1800 period style dresses. A man pays a prostitute to pretend to be the woman he secretly loves. As he rolls her onto the bed, one of her nipples is visible through sheer fabric. Later, she awakes alone. Finding the gold coins he left behind, she rolls over and flashes her nipple. A man tells a woman that she is to be his bride tonight or she will die. A woman takes a bath covered in bubbles. Nothing is seen. A woman implies she will have sex to get something she wants. She puts a man's hand on her breast to entice him.
violence This is a very gruesome version of Phantom of the Opera! more of a slasher film than a classic tale of music and horror. A man has his faced burned and deformed. A man is thrown off a catwalk with a rope around his leg and stabbed with a scalpel. Later, he is seen skinned alive and hung in a closet for a woman to find. He reaches out to grab her with his bloody hand before he dies. The phantom uses the skin taken from his victims to repair his damaged face. Three men are stabbed and killed in an alley. One of them has his head removed and rolled down the alley and another is skinned alive. A man is stabbed in a steam room and is later found skinned. A man is killed in a sauna with a towel by having it thrown over his face and squeezed until his face breaks, blood is shown going through the towel and on the wall behind him. Three skinned victims of the phantom are shown post mortem in photos. A woman is stabbed. Later her head is discovered in a bowl of soup. A man gets his heart ripped out by the phantom, It is hard to see at first then the phantom holds up his bloody heart. A man is impaled on a spike. A man is stabbed to death. A man is strangled with a rope. A man is shot repeatedly. Later he is stabbed to death. This is a typical Robert Englund slasher film, and there is much gore and violence throughout the whole film!
profanity A few uses of Damn, and Hell. One use of G**Damn
alcohol Many scene of drinking and smoking even by the phantom.
frightening The Phantom's mask is very graphic and frighting since it is human skin stitched to his face. The Phantom is shown sewing his mask on his face and removing it later in very graphic detail. People are murdered in very graphic ways, such as being beheaded, impaled, skinned etc. At the end of the film Christine rips off the phantoms mask which is skin to reveal his decayed/deformed face very gruesome! This film should not be viewed by anyone under 18.
