Movie Parental Guide

nudity No nudity with the exception of a man's butt. Some references to sex throughout. A few men go inside a brothel and have sex with women. (All of the sex is off screen). A man and woman have sex off screen. A man and woman are seen thrusting but are soon interrupted when the man is shot. A man's rear end is seen a few times in one scene after he is shot.
violence Throughout the movie many people are shot, which ends in bloody results A man is hung very early in the film. A man is seen hanging-but he is already dead. A man's finger is shot off by a rifle. Some blood. A rabbit is stabbed by a throwing knife. It's a real life animal seen with blood and squirming. A man is killed by being drowned in a river, but the scene honestly doesn't make sense. A man is shot in his side. Blood is shown. Another man is shot. A lot of blood shown. A man is set on fire, but it isn't nearly as bad as you'd think because he runs into a river and is seen to be in fair condition and not in pain. However, he is unexpectedly hit in the head with some sort of throwing tomahawk. But the effect is obviously fake, mainly because his head is shown from the side. He is seen later in the morning with blood on his eye and a stream of blood along his body. Marlon Brando wakes up and is told the reason why he woke up is because his neck got slit. Absolutely none of the neck is shown, although it is clearly seen that blood is coming out of his mouth. He dies. A man gets shot by another man (Blood is seen). He then shoots him back (Much smaller blood is seen). One dies, the other survives.
profanity Some swearing throughout.
alcohol Some alcohol is seen. But this is a western so this so extremely common, and in this movie's case, there is far less here than most Westerns.
frightening Some scenes with Brando are just plain strange. Especially the scene where he's talking to horses and feeding them carrots. Sometimes the movie is very weird. Some scenes have bizarre acting, dialogue, direction, and editing. With everything said here, please understand this movie is PG and rightfully so. Anyone can moderately watch it. If I had to set an age limit-to be safe-I'd say anyone 13 or older could watch it easily with no problem. Don't let your eyes fool you if you see many things listed above^. It's nowhere near as bad as you think. The only thing that might be considered disturbing is the scene with a rabbit being killed by a throwing knife-but even then it's only on screen for a few seconds.
