As a CIA officer, Evelyn Salt swore an oath to duty, honor and country. Her loyalty will be tested when a defector accuses her of being a Russian spy. Salt goes on the run, using all her skills and years of experience as a covert operative to elude capture. Salt's efforts to prove her innocence only serve to cast doubt on her motives, as the hunt to uncover the truth behind her identity continues and the question remains: "Who is Salt?"

Movie Parental Guide

nudity 1/10 A husband and wife kiss several times in a living room. A woman hangs her panties over a security camera. (After we see her remove them in a quick scene, no nudity is shown) A woman is tortured while in her bra and panties.
violence 7/10 in the Theatrical Version. 8/10 in the Unrated Extended Cut or Director's Cut. Intense fights and car crashes and chases. In one of these car chases, the driver of a car is repeatedly tazed in the head to cause his body to step on the acceleration pedal of the vehicle. Many people are shot at point blank range, including two main characters. A building is blown up and the President of Russia falls into the blown up hole in the ground. Where he is shot. Countless people are pistol whipped and shot at point-blank range (usually bloodless, but not always). (Theatrical) A man is smashed over the head with a vodka bottle (we see the assailant crack the bottle against his head and we hear him moan, the carnage is barely off-screen); we then see the bloody shards of the bottle but it isn't too unbearable. (Extended/Director's Cut) A man is stabbed in the throat with the broken end of a vodka bottle instead of hit over the head. A man is held hostage and shot in the Theatrical Version. But drowned in the Director's Cut and the Extended Cut. There is much more bloody violence in the Extended and Director's Cut of the film.
profanity 7/10 1 - F word 9 - Goddam 5 - shit 3 - bullshit 5 - Hell 3 - Jesus Christ 1 - Damn 1 - Go to Hell
alcohol 3/10 Some minor smoking. Characters drink vodka.
frightening 7/10 Nearly constant running, fights and beatings, explosions, and car chases. Very intense, but probably won't be that frightening for adults. However, take caution that young children may not feel the same way. Recommended for 14 and up.
