Sex & Nudity: 8/10
Sexuality is a very prominent theme throughout the film, including dialogue and non-graphic sex, but only one scene of nudity. Older teens discuss sexuality very often, often times using crude terms.
One story-line involves an older teenage girl having an affair with her grown-man soccer coach; he is shown flirting with her and later kisses her. Later in the film, they have a make out session on a coach and have sex, but no nudity is shown (we see closeups of the girls' face and distant moaning sounds overlapped with the imagery and shots of her in her bra and underwear). It is later implied that the teacher eventually has an affair with a different student and that he is a serial predator.
At a party, an older teenage couple goes into a bedroom and kisses, leading to the girl performing oral sex on the guy. The camera is from above the guy's shoulder and no nudity is shown, but the girl is shown unzipping his pants and opening the zipper. She is later shown in the bathroom rinsing out her mouth with mouthwash and spitting into a sink, and the event is later mentioned by other older teens.
An older teenage couple sits and talks on a bed and the guy undresses her, and the scene cuts to them under the covers, implying that they had sex. The guy gets up, showing his boxer-style underwear, and puts his clothes on and leaves.
An older teenage girl, while babysitting a small child, shows him a movie involving upper frontal female nudity. The young boy declines and says that he is too young, and the television is shown, showing a woman walking towards the camera and caressing her bare breasts, leading the young boy to say that he wants to continue watching the film. The older teenage girl then turns off the movie and tells him to go to bed.
An older teenage girl is outed as being a virgin to a group of older teens and they sarcastically tease her.
An older teenage boy forces himself on an older teenage girl and she hits him in the face with a glass bottle in self defense (please see the Violence & Gore section for more details).
A young guy asks another young guy and a grown man if, hypothetically, they would rather be gay men or girls, and briefly discusses his opinions on certain gender aspects of porn. |

Two older teenage boys and an older teenage girl discuss a much younger boy that committed suicide in the eighth grade and it is said that he shot himself in the head. The older teenage girl asks if shooting oneself hurts, and one of the guys says that it probably does hurt, but only for a very small amount of time.
Two older teenage boys are shown in a car, both drunk and high, and the intoxicated driver crashes into an oncoming car, causing both cars to swerve in opposite directions. No one is harmed.
An older teenage girl goes into a bathroom and cries, banging her head against the wall repeatedly.
An older teenage boy tries to get an older teenage girl to join him in a swimming pool and she repeatedly declines, leading him to get increasingly aggressive. He swims to the edge of the pool and pulls her in and jumps out, laughing at her, and the girl gets out; the guy pushes her around and tries to kiss her and she threatens him with a glass bottle, eventually smashing the bottle in his face, causing the glass to shatter and cut his head. He is later shown with gashes by his temple.
An older teenage boy jokingly points a butcher knife at another guy, scaring him. The initiator later threatens to stab a drug dealer, but does not.
An older teenage boy purposefully drives his car on the wrong side of a busy interstate; several cars are shown having to swerve out of the way. No accidents/damage is depicted or implied. |
