Movie Parental Guide

nudity There are some suggestive scenes such as Horton bathing and shaking his bottom. During their introductions to each other, the Mayor explains that he has 97 children. Horton says "Whoa! Busy guy!"
violence Nothing major. The mayor gets a stapler stuck to his head. Twice. Kangaroo field goal kicks one of the students through the air. Animals push an elephant into a cramped cage and threaten to boil a flower with a society of people on it in a giant cauldron. But the flower is saved as the animals hear the voice of people from the flower. While believing that the flower in question does not contain a world of people, a villain that is hired to destroy it promises his new boss that he will "devour" the flower, then "regurgitate it", and then "devour it again".
profanity Name calling, including "idiot", "moron", and "boob".
alcohol None.
frightening A character is apprehensive about going to the dentist. While in the dentist chair, the dentist prepares a hypodermic needle and slowly moves it towards the patient's mouth. But there is an earthquake, and the needle jabs into the patient's arm instead. Horton is attacked by bananas while trying to save the speck. Horton struggles across a rope bridge - but makes it. Vlad also leads Horton on a wild chase, ending with Horton almost falling off a very very high cliff, with Horton struggling quite a while not to fall. Vlad the Vulture chases Horton, then a tree hits Vlad and sends him flying into a rock wall. Kangaroo leads an angry mob toward Horton to get the clover/speck. Vlad the Vulture is scary. (picture can be seen in imdb's photo gallery for this film http://www.imdb.com/media/rm4018640384/tt0451079 ) He has very pointy teeth (which vultures don't have) and has an evil voice (supplied by Will Arnett) and mannerisms, but he is also funny. 3+
