Go Tell the Spartans is a 1978 American war film based on Daniel Ford's 1967 novel "Incident at Muc Wa." It tells the story about U.S. Army military advisers during the early part of the Vietnam War. Led my Major Asa Barker, these advisers and their South Vietnamese counterparts defend the village of Muc Wa against multiple attacks by Viet-Cong guerrillas.

Movie Parental Guide

nudity 0/10
violence 8/10 In probably the most graphic scene of the movie, an ARVN soldier beheads a VC prisoner with a machete, much to the disgust of US soldiers. A US soldier commits suicide in his bunk with a pistol, only a gunshot is heard and we see the aftermath. There are many other battle scenes with little or no blood. In the film's climax, all but one of the main characters are killed in a fierce battle, but this is only revealed in the final scene
profanity 8/10 14 F-words. One use of the cunt word. Racial words when the Vietnamese are referred to.
alcohol 5/10 Drinking and smoking.
frightening 6/10 Overall, the most intense scene in the film is when the ARVN troop beheads a VC soldier with a machete
