Movie Parental Guide

nudity MPAA "R" for - sequences of strong graphic horror violence and gore, scenes of frightening and disturbing images and terror, sexual content including brief nudity and for language. However, movie's original version, in which no death scene is cut, was rated X for the highly terrifying and explicit nature of those sequences. 4/10 Tamest of the series in terms of nudity. In the opening credits Dan and Alice are seen having sex. (No nudity is shown, done artistically) Alice seen in the shower. She is seen nude from a distance and through frosted glass, nothing explicit. She is briefly shown nude from the side from a distance. Her right nipple is visible for about an eighth of a second, though the scene is so fast most viewers will miss it. She is then seen naked from behind. It is implied that Freddy's Mother was raped by 100 inmates of a prison, after mistakenly getting locked in with them for a couple days.
violence 9/10 The most violent entry in the series. A woman gives birth to a son, who is horribly deformed and emits some mouth sounds that some viewers may find very upsetting and disturbing. It contains some blood. Dan is transformed into a human bike, the parts tear his knuckles and ankles open and hold on to him. The most violent scene of the movie, no blood is shown but is still very graphic. In the uncut version of the movie, cables shove up Dan's head so violently that flesh and skin are completely ripped off and scalp is thrown away. Freddy burns off his own arm by peering wine on it. Freddy forces Greta to eat herself, specifically by ripping her abdomen open and shoving her bloody intestines into her mouth. This is shown in a comical light, but is pretty gross. It lasts about two minutes. Mark is sucked in a comic book where he is transformed into a piece of paper that Freddy rips to shreds. His bloody arm is seen afterwards. The original version also shows Mark being beheaded by Freddy's claws, still in his paper version. The souls of Freddy's victims (in the forms of their faces, attached to his body by a slimy chord) tear through his chest, and pull a baby version of him out of his body through his chest. The most sensitive viewers may find this scene highly creepy, since the faces are gruesomely deformed and scream very loudly.
profanity 5/10 Infrequent language.
alcohol 3/10 Some characters drink beer at a pool party. Freddy uses wine to mutilate his arm, then exclaims, "Bad year, Dan!"
frightening 9/10 This film is dark in tone, and may disturb more sensitive viewers. The scene where Greta is force-fed her own organs might disturb some viewers, as her face becomes bloated. It is done comically, but some may be freaked out. The ending scene where Jacob looks like Freddy might also disturb some viewers. The birth scene could disturb more sensitive viewers. Total Content Advisory: 30/50 - Strong horror violence and gore, including unveiled human organs, deformed human beings and very gloomy general tone. 16+ (theatrical version), 18+ (uncut version).
