Movie Parental Guide

nudity 4/10 A few kissing scenes. An orge wants to eat a donkey and says they haven't cut his "jiblets" off, meaning castrating him.
violence 4/10 Repeat comical violence including fighting and imprisonment. The film's climactic battle could be viewed as intense and/or excessive by some young viewers. Shrek and Fiona fight during training, both punching and hitting each other. In the climactic scene, Shrek dies in an alternate reality, but then we go to the original universe where he is still alive and well.
profanity 2/10 "Asshole" is said by Donkey, which describes him. THIS PART IS FOR COMEDY ONLY Donkey is a very bad language animal who says a lot of bad words.
alcohol 1/10 Shrek is shown drinking an "eyeballtini" (an ogre's version of a martini) a few times in the film, but, there are no signs of drunkeness as a result.
frightening 3/10 Appearence of Dragon in the alternate reality may frighten younger viewers. The complete disappearance of Fiona's parents and the partial dissapearance of Shrek may upset and confuse younger or more sensitive viewers. The film's characters include witches, ogres and a frightening villain whom young and/or sensitive viewers may find scary. The battle scene at the end is quite intense. Overall Rating: 14/50 Rated PG for: Adult Content, Adult Language, Mild Violence.(HBO advisory)
