Sent to the market by his uncle to sell their horse and buy thatch for their roof, Jack meets the beautiful Princess Isabelle whom he rescues her from ruffians. He returns home only with a handful of beans given to him by a monk who claimed they were sacred but that does little to impress his uncle who tosses them away. In the night the Princess arrives having run off to keep from marrying Roderick who is clearly only interested in becoming king. Soon the beans take root with a giant stalk carrying away the princess and Jack's house. He soon sets off on an adventure with the king's guards to rescue the princess only to find that a mythical land filled with giants really exists.

violence A giant eats an entire lamb in a long shot, then bites the head off a man and we see some blood; the giant picks up another man and walks away. A giant steps on a pile of human skulls with loud crunching and spits out a man's armor, indicating that he ate a whole man. Two men fight on a rock cliff, using swords and choke holds: one man suffers a superficial cut to the face that bleeds, he holds the other man's head under water until the man grabs a dagger in his mouth and stabs the first man in the heart (no blood shown). A man throws an ax into the helmet of a giant and we see a little blood, the giant grabs the man in one hand and a woman in the other hand, a magic bean is thrown down the giant's throat causing the giant to cough and sputter and large bean stalks shoot out of the head, mouth, and shoulders of the giant. A giant wraps a man and two hogs in bread dough and sticks nails in them to make them bake faster: the nail for the man lands between his legs, not harming him, while the hogs die silently and without blood; the giant slides them all into an oven and a man stabs the giant between the shoulders, the giant falls against a wall, stabbing himself more deeply, and finally falls and dies with open, cloudy eyes. Giants attack soldiers, hitting some with large hammers and sending them sailing into far off trees: a giant holds a man's headless body (we see a bloody neck in a long shot). One giant falls into the moat and appears to burn but is unharmed. A giant chases a man and a woman. Giants toss several burning trees into a courtyard as soldiers use long bows and flaming arrows, and repeater guns filled with larger arrows against them. A few giants fall dead with arrows in their eyes and faces but no blood is evident. One man pushes another man over a cliff (we hear him scream) as a third man says he will die when he hits bottom. A giant falls over a cliff after a beehive is placed into his helmet and he screams loudly; we see him hit the ground loudly. Soldiers capture a monk and question him; a man stabs the monk off screen without sound. Three men accost a woman, a farmer steps up and punches one of the men; soldiers rescue the woman. Several giants steal horses and other items, and burn down houses; we hear that they eat the people of the village. We see in flashbacks that giants and humans have been fighting for hundreds of years, with medieval weapons like maces, clubs, daggers, spears, slingshots and crossbows and currently the giants carry clubs, maces, slingshots and they throw rocks. A monk holds a large black, glistening heart and aorta; he places it on the floor and it glows as it turns into a magic glowing crown. The leader of the giants wears a yellowed human skeleton on a chain around his neck. We see a man after his death with his skin appearing like wood as he is placed in a sarcophagus and the lid placed on top. We see the grave of a soldier in some grass, marked with crossed branches as a grave marker. We see the skeleton of a large mammal in a room in a castle. Four soldiers fall off ropes to the ground and we see several dead bodies on the ground with their legs in unnatural positions. Two giants argue about who will eat a princess and they strike each other with a mace and a hammer (neither appears injured). As a giant is killed, his eyeball is popped out.
profanity One F-word (might not be completely finished), that is unexpected. 1 scatological term, 6 religious exclamations and 6 mild obscenities. Name-calling (stupid, crazy, lady friend [referring to a man], plague and useless.)
alcohol None
frightening Giants eat some humans, but mostly off screen or in the distance. there is a princes in a prison and then the giant almost killed her can give nightmares to some kids they could get pretty scared 10 and up id say The giants may be frightening to younger children. Some intense battle scenes with giants and humans getting killed with arrows, falling flaming trees, are getting smashed by flying debris. giants keep trying to kill people and it could be frightening
